PAINT STRIPPER
hello all, this is probably not the first time this is asked but what are some opinions on fiberglass paint stripper, ive heard good things about captian lee.s......wanna know if anyone has had good or bad luck with it......thanks
Here's something I found re: Captain Lee's http://www.autobodystore.com/forum/s...540&page=2 You can find more forum comments by Googling Captain Lee's. Some said it was great but this guy didn't like it.
FWIW I used a chemical stripper that was neutralized by water. It was a jell and took the factory paint off down to the factory primer and stopped there. Did it in drive w/ rubber gloves (stuff burns skin) & safety glasses. Most strippers use methylene chloride which is a pretty potent solvent. Used a plastic putty knife to scrape it off. While it's nasty, you don't wind up w/ all the dust that sanding produces. I've heard that soda blasting is a safe way.
