Looking to replace rear bumper on 1974 with original type, Iwould like to use urethane but can not seem to find it. Any ideals of places that might sell urethane Rear Bumper??

hey have you tried looking at like year one, ecklers, or mid-america corvette catalogs

 

Hi AC, all of the big-name catalogues have the urethane bumpers for each year, it's gonna' run $500.

 

All the "BIG" guys carry the urethane front bumpers only ($700),but no one makes the urethane rear bumpers or so I have been told by all the "BIG" guys. I have a 74 that I really enjoy, it's 350/195hp, 4-speed, no p/s or p/b, has a/c, convertible with the C08 (vinly covered auxhardtop)option which only 367 were made that year. I wanted to try to stay close to orginal, but now think I will fudge a little on the new paint colorsince I will have to put fiberglass bumpers on.

Welcome to the forum. Have you tried your Chevy parts dept? I got a new front urethane bumper for my '73 a few years ago from Chevy parts.

 

The front bumper is not the problem, rear bumper is urethane which no one makes new anymore. Thanks for the input, I'm going with fiberglass bumper.

 

Good choice. Although it's not the original equipment you wanted, the fiberglass bumper cover will hold up much better. Cheers
