Default side pipes

Just cut fake side pipes off '68 getting ready for a little engine build and clean up. I've already got a set of Hookers but after seeing car w/o pipes may go with the Hooker side pipes. Any experience on noise level? Do the muffler inserts come in different flows compared to noise? Don't want to choke it down too much or would have stayed with stock manifolds. Thanks guys.

I think they have a few different setups but if not you can go with straight thru big(3.5-4") pipes after the collectors and baffle them your self. That's what I'm doing in 4" pipes on a Big Block C3. You can tune them yourself that way.

I used the fiberglass inserts and they were pretty quiet until the 'glass all burned out. Try searching on this forum as there were some posts awhile back discussing this issue.

Oh, and welcome to the Corvette Forum.
