well guys and girls i have solved the speedo needle waving now my 81 is perfect. has a slight wave when you first take of.but is steady by 30 klm. it is the bullet that goes into the side of the the gear box extention that holds the driven gear. Most early gearbox (warner/ muncie) has this type of bullet.After putting all new cable new bullet did not solve the problem. Now here's the trick. You will notice that the bullet is loose in the gearbox housing so all you need to do is capture the bullet and secure it so it dose not move. I made a fork that that fits into the groves and captured the bullet from moving when bolted down. It worked for me so hope it works for you. . Sharlenne from down under.
