Whats up to everyone on this board, I just recently got a "85" Vette, and I was wondering what is the hp. on this year, and is there different models with more or less H.p.'s ? Thanks.

i am all about a stock corvette, the value of the car is lost when you put a supercharger or what ever on the car, but thats all up to you.

I've got Tuner Cat R/T and 10 blank chips if you want to do anything to it. "85's are a car of their own. we have things like M/A meter Burn off control moduals and odd stuff like that. My car has trickFlow heads, lunati cam Superram intake 255 FP, and exhaust and a 150 compucar N20. It runs 7.9's (1/8) on the motor yet to see what it does on the spray.

The chips are hard to find. I do have 10 of them that can be custom burnt for your mods or specs. My car made 243 rwhp(peak) and 323 rwtq@2300 rpm. On a DynoDynamics Dyno @ dyno4mance in calhoun Ga. These dynos read less than a dynojet and it is an automatic. It has been load cell tuned. It picked up 15hp thru the whole curve above the superchips eprom.

It doesnt make alot of HP but it makes alot of useable torque. I am very happy with my little red '85!!! [IMG][/IMG]

Hello! The '85 had a stock 230hp and about 340lb/ft of torque.that year, there were no special models or engines, just the different options you could have ordered back in those days.Hope this helps!

Well just consider how many times a day you need all that extra horsepower. If it's just on occasion to **** off the rice burner next to you at the lights then go nitrous for under $500.If you feel you may need to carry a big gun all the time stick a procharger on there and start saving up for fuel. Can be done for around $2500. Really no point in spending money on all these gimmicky things, you may pick up a horse here and there but nothing you will really notice. You could probably put a 383 in for around $3500 but to get the best out of it is probably going to cost another$5000. Incidentally a real expensive exhaust system will make it sound a lot faster but not get you there any quicker. Sorry but there are no cheap answers to generating HP

Hey Joe you just resurected a post from the 50's and I was stupid enough to come in on top of you. He's probably got about $10,000 into the thing by now and maybe gained 25 HP if he's lucky!!!
