If you have an automatic this will give you an outstanding improvement in acceleration, but result in your car reving way too high an RPM just about all the time: at speeds where it now cruises at 2000 RPM, it will be doing nearly 2800 RPM. Top speed reached ineach gear (and overall) will be reduced by about 1/3. Fuel economy will suffer substantially.

With a six speed the same thing happens but it is not too bad because you still have two overdrive gears (5th and 6th) that will get the revs back down to reasonable levels when cruising from 40 mph on up.

Just bought a 94 with gearing changes, not sure of ratio. runs great no big deal with easy crusing around town, but the beast comes out when needed. This change was done with a hypertech tuner also, so shift points can be set ,also speedo is correct. Noticed higher rpm's on highway over my stock 85, but still got 23 mpg on highway.

Have you ordered those gears yet? I would like to know how well they help you at the track. I've read that their suppose to take a half a second off of your 1/4 mile time. How fast do you run in a quarter? I haven't been to the track yet? My car is bone stock.[sm=lame.gif]

I have been to the track. Mine was bone stock when I went to the track. I posted my times on the time slip, I think is was 9.385 in the 1/8, I havent made it to the 1/4 mile track yet. I havent ordered the gears yet gonna try some other things first. If you get them let me know how they do also. I heard they take about a quarter of a second off of your time so its probably inbetween.

Have you raced anyone on the streets yet? You may not even race on the streets. I'm sure you'll outrun most cars that you race, if you know how to drive that is...........

I outran a mustang a few days ago in mine. It wasn't much of a race though.
