Default 84 85 window motors

Anyone know if the original window motors for these years are unique?

Looks like the 84-85 use a large 22 tooth gear. All motors sold now are 9 or 12. I think thats going to be a huge issue because the diameter is different.

From what I can see is 84 - 85 and 86 early use 12 tooth then 86L to 96 use the 9 tooth gear. Not sure how you are counting 22 teeth, you might want to research a little more. Or pull the old one out and compare, maybe someone changed yours. 22 teeth on the motor would make the window travel really fast. If it has 22 teeth see if it has a part # on it. Hope this helps

I know of no one that sells rebuild kits ( they call the motors nonserviceable item) Some gears are available. An easy fix if your final gears are good. Buy a stock (12 tooth) pull the gear assembly apart and put your 20 tooth assembly in its place. new motor new bushings if that is only problem. That might work
