Anyone have a simplited brake line diagram for an 87 c4?
Hi all. As per title, does anyone have an easy to read/see diagram (even hand drawn) for an 87 C4 ABS model?? Bought the car with the lines already removed and have a new set (x8 lines) of prebent s/s ones from Ecklers but dont really have a clue what goes where. I already have the abs pump diagram with inlets/outlest clearly shown but the line kit I have has multiple ones with same part numbers so leaving me bit fuddled especially as the factory diagrams are quite fuzzy and some show the front left/right pipes either both going to pump on left side of motor and some show left and reight going up their respective sides. Which is correct? All help appreciated to get back on road.
Thanks in advance.

True - even parts for the 87's are not easy to source. Car was purchased mid restoration.
The supposidley Polite Canadianmanufacturer cannot be bothered to even respond to email sent 2 x weeks past to help out.
Seems early abs vesions are all but ignored by everyone.

Welcome to the forum. Helm sells factory service manuals for all of the Corvette generations I believe.
It looks like after a quick interweb search that some of the major aftermarket Corvette suppliers have illustrations that might help.

Caiiavette is looking for that very detailed diagram of the abs system. I'm kinda surprised that GM didn't use stainless steel or something like that for brake lines, corrosion has always been an issue for brake lines. Another example of kicking the can down the road. THe GM shop manual should be the best I would think, But without looking at the other manuals it's hard to say without looking at them. A good shop manual would also cover the troubleshooting diagnostic repairs that go along with the ABS system. If you have ever had issues with abs systems you know what I mean. Good Luck Callavette on finding that information that's your first challenge, having it work properly and finding neccesary parts should also be fun. That has to be a fun system to get all the air out just looking at diagrams. Even if it doesen't work 100 percent you still have brakes and probably a dash abs light.
Hi. I have numerous diagrams from the so called best manuals but none are very clear. Would have helped if manufacturer of the expensive replacement lines had a diagram but no - that would be too much to ask them for apparantly. Will also need fuel lines and thats going to be an issue as there is substantial corrosion around rear light panel fixings and diff carrier.
Could have gone the simple route and just eliminated the very basic abs but not me - if it aint difficult! Famous last words.

Finally got an answer from SS Tubes, the pipe/line manufacturer...."sorry, diagram, instructions are not something we offer...) So much for customer service and spending $400.00+++ try GM. As much use as a hole in a condom......
Nice.. I guess the Perfect Shop Manual goes on. The pictures I see online are blurry and or really small. Might be the time to bite the bullet and spend the money on a manual. There is lttle information on YouTube about the ABS system. It might be a good time to buy a manual and do a YouTube on your car. Or not.
