It was bound to happen sooner or later... the amp in my right, rear speakeris about gone (my baby is a 91 coupe, by the way). I know a lotta folks don't like the Bose stereo, but I happen to like it (well, without the crackeling of the blown amp). I don't want to put a new stereo in there, so I'm stickin' with it.

When I took apart the speakers, I noticed that the other amp looks almost new, as if the previous owner changed one out but not the other. I switched them to make sure it was the amp and not something else... sure enough, now the left speaker crackles and pops and the right one is fine.

I've read where you're supposed to change them out in sets,but I'm wondering if I really need to do that. Will it hurt the speakers or the head unit if I just change one out? I've found new amps on eBay as low as $75 each (less than the $100-125 I've found other places!), but as I'm strapped for cash right now (i.e. a c4 owner), I'd love to save some dough and just replace one amp.

Any thoughts?

I have a complete set or rear bose speakers with the amps and the enclosures,, they worked well, except the realy up front was bad,, it would play tunes for a few seconds then nothing...

$50 plus shipping ,, both of them are yours..
