RE: bose stereo
I just changed sterieos on my '87 and had the same symptoms. come to find out that the power wire was not hoked up to the amps harness wire. I guess the amps have to be told to turn on with a seperate power sorce. as soon as I figured that out it worked fine. Hope it helps. cheers

RE: bose stereo
yes there is atleast one amp-turn-on wire that must be plugged in. i believe it was pink on my 86. but if you just connect everything back the way it was, that should solve that. also at some point they put a radio relay in the bose systems. im not sure if you have one, or where its located, but that would definately be worth checking into.

RE: bose stereo
Thats right a little short Pink wire with an oddball clip. I just wired it to my antenna power wire so it would be powered up when the system came on. worked great. good luck brother.

Thanks fo the help. I think the probem is in the CDM box.I took it out and sent it to United Radio in Syracuse,NY to be checked out. I will keep you posted as to how it turns out.Has anyone sent anything to United Radio before? How are they to deal with? Do they do good work?

I am an electronic tech, I worked on all types of consumer electroncs for over 25 yrs, I tell you BOSE built some of the worst audio amplifers, Bose in general was designed to work only with other Bose components, in my 84" have also have the Sony xplode and it works very well in this application
