I have a 1987 that's in need of an a/c recharge, since r12 is next to impossible to find, I'm going to need to convert over to r134a. Can anyone tell me exactly what I need as far as parts. Ecklers has a conversion kit with a a new compessor and and some other parts, but some sites sell kits with new fittings and o-rings etc for a whole lot cheaper. I'm just confused as to what is necessary to replace. I realize I'm going to have to find a shop to evacuate and recharge the system, but am clueless how much of this I can do myself. Thanks for any help you can give me.
