coolant leak (please ignore last post...)
Hi again all,
About a month ago I was having a problem with a little coolant leaking. Well, it doesn't happen often, but it's still leaking a little from time to time. This time, I have pix (please see below).
Background: 1991 with 76,000 miles on it. I've had belts and hoses checked, radiator cap replaced, and clamp on lower radiator hose adjusted. I can't see where the leak is originating from looking from the top or bottom, but maybe from these pix you all can help. It's not running particularly hot, and there's still plenty of coolant left in the resevoir. Any thoughts????
Thanks!
Mike

Well gosh, there are like a zillion possibilities. Can you offer any enlightenment as to (at least) a general area from which it might be originating? Perhaps I'm a doofus or due to my old eyes, but I don't have a clue as to what I'm looking at in that picture. A good starting point would be to check and snug up, as needed, any worm-type clamps. Has anyone pressure tested it to see if they can make the source appear? I understand how difficult various areas are to see on these cars. And I believe the L98 C4s are even worse than the LT1/4 cars in that respect. A good light source, using mirrors on a stick, etc. are often needed to pin-point a problem area. Buy or borrow a pressure tester, pump it up to 15-20 psi and go hunting. Eventually you'll find it, if it's an external leak.
