RE: Dash light

take the cover off the diagnostic terminal that is located underneath the steering wheel/dashboard area and closest to the radio consol. Locate the the top 2 terminals on the right. Jump these 2 terminals, or take your paper clip and insert one end into each terminal. Then turn the key to the 'on' position. on mine the radiator fans will turn on, and you will notice the SES (service engine soon) light begin to flash. Take note of the two-digit codes that will flash. You will get a code 12 (one flash-pause-two flashes) that indicates your ECM is in diagostic mode, and nothing else (this is good.) Code 12 will repeat 3 or so times and then any codes that are stored will then be display, repeating each code 3 times before moving on to the next code. IF there are no codes remaining, code 12 will be displayed again, indicating the dianostic process is complete.

Thanx for the info. Gonna try it 1st thing in the AM. Hope the car don't blow up! Otherwise, maybe, just maybe, there'll be a '07 06 under the tree.

Raisinbran; Black86; mech259.

Went to local Chev place this AM. They first told me that there was a "defective" coolant sensor. Then they found that the sensor, in fact, was not bad but rather the wire lead to the sensor was bad. So they put on a new plug and Bingo! everythings OK.

Thanx for all your help and if you need anything in NJ, lemme know.
