Fuel Pump Replacement
Does anyone have detailed directions for fuel pump replacement? Thanks!

Well if it's the same as my '87 you remove the fuel door with the correct torques driver, carefully remove the rubber spill tray. remove the 11? bolts that hold the fill/ sending unit/ and pump in place, disconnect the hoses(3?),very carefully, holding the fill neck/sending unit /pump, liftstraight up until the float reaches the top. gently maneuver the unit to clear the float without bending the float arm and viola, you have just to follow the instructions included with the pump now and replace the unit in reverse of taking it out. good luck
PS: should take all of 15 min. |

Thanks George! I am hoping to get a new one soon because my hard starting problem is caused by the fuel pump. Thats what i was told by a very good mechanic anyway.

I've had my '87 for 6 months and had to do it twice. easy but frustrating. Good luck with it Matty. Cheers
