I bought a 1988 rag top with the fuel gauge not working. I found that the sending unit is missing out of the tank. It appears that the only year sending unit that fits is the 1988? Is there a solution other than paying $400 plus dollars for a new unit?

 

Sorry to say, not much. I just bought one for my 86 and paid $369 for it from Ecklers and it included the pump. [8D]
