help me I screwed up my paint
So I painted the car...the paint part came out great. Then I cleared it. It looks like wrinkle paint. Do I have to strip it all tyhe way down or is there something I can do to make it look right.

Was your clear matched to your base coat? I had that happen to me once on a truck because the dork at the paint shop gave me a can of the wrong clear. Check your cans and if that is the case you should be able to get more paint for free and possibly a credit at your supplier. Unfortunatly you will probably have to take it all back off as something didn't adhear or the solvents in the paint caused it to let go. Man that sucks bad. Good luck with it.

post pictures so we can see. If it is just "peal" as CWB suggests, that's an easy fix. You can sand out the texture and clear it again. If it is wrinkled like "gator skin" ("alligation"),you gatta strip it.

More than likely "gator Skin" has happend to me also on smaller projects where you don't match the clear with the paint.Actually looks like art when you do this on shelfs and speakers, but I'm assuming that's not the case on your vette.

Sounds like you shot lacquer clear over enamel color, I guess it doesn't matter what the fault was, you'll have to strip it and start over, stay with the same brand all the way through from primer to clear coat. If your shootin' enamel stay with all enamel products.
