I am going to look at a 92 6 speed targa top corvette today it has 98,xxx miles on it. what problems should I look for? what are some of the common things that wear or break an some of the not so common? I am not a newb to the lt1 I currently own a 95 z28 6 speed but if there are any differeces you guys could tell me about that would be awsome.

As an owner of a L98 I can only say just check for the general stuff, signs of oiil consumption, transmission sounds, any liquid leakage under car, shuddering when shifting or
backing up, and if questionable take to a mech you trust.

Good luck.

I have a 1992 auto. The only downside to the early LT1 powered cars is the optispark. Nonvented, first generation unit. More susceptible to failure than probably any other opti equipped model. I am still on my original opti at 140K miles though but I do have a new, vented MSD unit on the shelf in the garage ready to go when mine does give up the ghost. Other than that its just that its a 16 year old car and they will have some problems. I am very happy with mine after two and a half years of ownership. Though I have had to replace the injectors, transmission and converter, turn signal assembly and a valve spring.
