Historical Vehicle
My Vette is a 1987 Convertible, white over blue. It has just turned 20 years of age. In Ontario, Canada, there is a classification of motor vehicles known as a "historical vehicle" when it reaches the age of 20 years. Does anyone know if this still exists, with regards to the renewal of licence stickersof the vehicle, as there used to be a reduction of fees for a "historical vehicle". Tried to get through to the Department, but no luck.Your comments are appreciated.

RE: Historical Vehicle
Hello,my friend. An '87,you say?Great car!The L-98 is a great engine! I didn't know you're in Canada, but as far as I know here in the States,I believe after 25 yrs you can get a,well,an "old car or classic car tag".Eventually, after 30 yrs,I do believe it becomes an antique and then you can tag and register it accordingly.Unfortunately,my info comes from only here in Delaware as I'm not familiar with any other states' laws.Maybe you can go to the equivalent Canadian motor vehicle dept. and you can get better options than what I have suggested.I do hope I helped,if not by much.Good luck to you and may God bless you and yours.Your friend,Joe.LONG LIVE THE C4!!!

To m.martince;are you familiar with Delaware's laws at all?You are close to me,so maybe you know something I don't.I have my '96,and as I know it's not 20 yrs old,do you think it's possible to do for my car what you did in my state eventually?I'm not sure at all, since I'm always working or doing some other things.Maybe you can help?Your friend,Joe.

RE: Historical Vehicle
Before I bought the Vette I owned a 1965 Sunbeam tiger for many years.
Here in Michigan I was able to regester it as a historic vehicle and my plates and insurance were very cheap, about $125 per year for full coverage insurance through Hagertey, and the plate was something ridiculous like$25 for 5 years or something like that.
On the down side, there are strict limits on how the car can be used, but enforcement of these limits is a whole different thing.
In all the time I had historic plate on the Sunbeam, I never got pulled over and questioned about my use of the car.
BTW, my 92 Vette is a much better all around car, but in a straight line, I would not want to drag race that Sunbeam!
