Hmm My C4
Just sitting here thinking cuz im bored. Once I get my new laptop which should be fairly soon
, I am going to go all out on the vette. Thinking about getting a job to speed up the process than have to ask my parents for money everytime I want to do something. Not saying they dont give it to me unwilingly, they do and are happy I have the hobby, but I want to expand it faster. I bought me a notebook and wrote down everything I want from the car. The first things are to fix the idle. I wrote down EVERYTHING I could think of to make the idle nice and smooth but agressive sounding with the exaust. Right now, its kinda rough because I gave it a good tune up but I couldve done alot better. This was a while back before I really got into making it the best it could possibly be, making it stand out, and making it just really something to be proud of and reliable! The idle bothers me because its so rough and kinda sick sounding. Checked everything out and found out a few issues which I am taking care of like a vacum leak, oil leak, and a intake manifold gasket leak. Which, from other post I think you guys know. The vacum leak was found at the shop. Thats cool that he found it and asked me what I wanted to do. He fixed my oil leak for free. Bad valve cover gaskets. They hadnt sealed well so he replaced them at no charge.
He says hes cleaning up around the area where it leaked and he checked all my heads, checked for any codes, and he says everything is looking good so far which makes me a bit happier. He did mention that it needed a tune up and offered to do it for me with premium parts but I declined and said I would do it when I had a little spare time. As for the idle, some of it has to do with the poor exaust on it. I have no exaust at the moment. Just straight manifolds leading into the two pre-cats which are empty shells. My old exaust is laying in my garage corner in pieces. I bought the bolt on kit from midamerica which I believe delted the pre-cats and bolts straight onto the manifolds. True dual and I have new chrome mustang tips to weld into place.
It's so sexy. Daddy bought this for me along with a interior screw kit to tighten everything down, and he bought me the heads up headliner kit with the adhesive and black material. As for my idle, heres what I am going to do:
Exaust
Upgrade to a high out-put fuel pump/replace relay
Upgrade to 24 lb SVO injectors
Taylor 8.0 mm Spark Plug wires
AC Delco Rapid Fire plugs
Change to full synthetic oil since the leak has been stopped
Maf Sensor along with burn off relay
Coil
Distributor Cap
Already put on a new distributor
I am moving the timing to 6*
I am taking apart the throttle body-cleaning it fully, and reset the IAC
I am going to put on the A.I.R. Eliminator bracket.
New Belt Tensioner
Researched the Air Foil and it DOES help smooth idle as air comes in reducing turbulence so that will go in.
That about covers it. I hope this makes it run smoother. Also found alot of good deals on sound deadener material. Eventually I want to rip out the carpet and lay it down. Buy the sound deader/moisture vaporizer for the doors. The interior screw kit will help ALOT right now as I am missing alot of screws.
Also, I researched that removing the spare tire, jack and carrier will reduce reasonance. I am going to do that and I found a bracket that will replace the carrier to help keep it stiff back there and I am going to paint the rear suspension parts back there to clean it up. Very cheap and nice looking. This is pretty much my latest mods that I hope to do as interior/comfort for a while. It looks allright for the time being. Now its time to make it more of a comfortable ride for me and my passenger. Already upgraded the sound system and tint to keep the sun out.
