I have an 87 vert that's clean and looks great. Emissions test is not an issue and I only drive it 1000 miles or less a year. So I've got a code 32 EGR and I'm looking at all the crap on the engine and I'm thinking what the heck, clean it up. So once I block off the EGR and delete the related junk how do I get the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light off. I need some kind of tuner right? I'm not interested in gaining HP or mileage. I just want to clean up the engine. I know the smog pump going won't set a code but the EGR will. So what do I need and where can i find one? I suspect you will need to get the fake O2 sensors also. I don't know if that will affect the EGR DTC or not.
