K&N keep or go to paper???
Should I keep my K&N and cut lid or just switch to the paper filter. I have the cut lid, descreened mafs, power coupler and air foil. That is all the intake work done. If none of this is performance giving I will be willing to sell it all. I just want to know mainly about the K&N? If its wasting my time, its going for sale? Some say its good, some not. I dont mind replacing paper filters if they do a better job.
Maybe my views are a little slanted but I've used K&N filters on other cars, ie, BMW, Pontiac, etc. and the only difference I've noticed is the greater sound at full throttle. It might flow more air, but I really didn't see any improvement in mpg or power.

By all means, keep the K & N filter over the paper filters. Not only is the K & N filter exceedingly economical over the paper filters, but think about the porous surface of the K & N filter vs the paper filters. There is no comparison. My .02 worth.

If you like removing the K&N filter once a years and cleaning it...stay with the K&N.
Most service facilities do not clean K&N filters, since it takes more labor to clean them then it would cost to just replace them. K&N's are much better, but you must clean them at least once a year (Some times 2).

Hello there! You know,if I were you,I'd keep the K&N.Remember, they're not paper,yo can clean and re-use them for a VERY long time, and to top it all off, they're more efficient than any paper filter. So,I say keep it,clean it,oil it,and mantain it in great shape and you'll have a filter for many years to come!
