K&N Products
I have been reading some amazing testimonies on the gas savings and improved hoesepower by switching to a K & N air filter. Has anyone used this product in their vette and does it really makes a hugh difference in performance? Also, is the K & N oil filter far superior to other brands?

RE: K&N Products
Hi:
I have had great luck and service with the K and N filters having one on my 72 Coupe with a 350 and in my Ford Ranger. In the Rangers case I picked up about 2 MPG! You may even want to check out the AMSOIL air filters, the new Ea's are a little cheaper than K and N's , and you don't have to wash them (see service life quote below from the AMSOIL website), and since I sell AMSOIL are excellent filters.

AMSOIL Ea Air Filters
AMSOIL Ea Air Filters are the most efficient filters available to the car/light truck market. Ea Air Filters’ synthetic nanofiber media removes 5 times more dust than traditional cellulose filter media alone and 50 times more dust than wet gauze filter media. AMSOIL Ea Air Filters have a service life of 100,000 miles or four years, whichever comes first.

RE: K&N Products
I have used K&N on other vehicles & think they have a good product.
However, my 92 Vette has a BIG air filter & i have a hard time believing the filter is a restriction in the air intake system.
I have also heard of problems on cars that use a mass air flow sensor with oil from the filter migtrating onto the MAF sensor, (usually after a fliter cleaning & oiling) causing trouble codes & driveability problams.
This might be a concern on TPI cars.
