Default Learning the ropes

Hi out there ! Got back into the vettes after many years away. C2s and 3s were the kick, had 4 of 'em. Boys are grown and gone, the Harley's fun,
wife wanted a convertible,....soooooo,.... went looking. Sticker shock, naturally, so I shopped for a stepping stone project. Bought an 84 with 156k miles for $1600.00 and drove it home. Cleaned it, fixed a multitude
of chicken squat problems, pulled the cat which was strangling the poor thing, rebushed the rear and have been driving it. Been enjoying it, too.
On occasion, it wants to hunt ( rpm ) at cruising speeds. Steady 40 or
steady 50, doesn't matter. It's just a few hundred rpm and it'll continue
until I change it ( lifting to stop or accelerating ). May not do it again for a day or two. I'm new to TBI. Don't know if it's injection, ECM acting up
by altering the timing, or even the lock up in the converter. Anybody else have this or got any ideas? It hasn't driven me crazy yet as I'm enjoying the targa top sitting UNDER the back glass.
Starts and idles just fine. Low temp fast idle works as needed.
Accelerates like a corvette should. Under WOT, trans hits hard.
Does not diesel when shut off. Restart is instantaneous.
Does not hunt at idle.
Thanks to all in advance.
