Lil help with on/off no start problem
i had a problem with car, all the injectors were stuck on. it filled the crankcase up with gasoline. pull your dipstick and see what is in there. i wouldnt want to run an engine with gas in the crankcase... BIG FIRE! the problem ended up being a bad ECM. i would definately further check into this before blowing all that money on injectors.
having a similar problem with 89 Coup. Mechanic says the noid light is "weak" on the attempted restart. The ICM test fine, a replacement ECM didn't solve the problem (Replacement ECM also had one less pin than original?).
Testing the Ohms on the injectors now, thinking is to replace POS originals with Bosch. The "weak" noid light is throwing us off.
This happened before a complete tune up and has continued after.

In fact I have two shorted injectors, one in each bank or quad. Once they were disconnected the car starts every time. Having all eight replaced after reading the poor quality OEM's have.
Thanks for the help. My mechanic wasn't going to let this beat him but we were thinking more and more it was a short somewhere else in the wiring harness.
Appreciate the help.

Seems to be a few threads running on this topic right now..
What aftermarket injectors are you looking at using? (ops.. looks like you mentioned Bosch)
mech.. what do you like?
oh, and I'm still curious.. the stock lbs on my 89's injs? 8th vin is '8'.. seems to be a determining factor.
anyone? anyone?
I bet google knows .. I need to do my searches.
thanks all..and best of luck with yours.

We always replace injectors on GM cars using A/C Delco injectors. I don't delve into performance much because that's not what my customers want. Fit and replacement performance is usually what I'm after. Not to say that I have not had any probs with Delco replacements. You will have that with any if you change as many as we do yearly. [8D]
Was going to go Bosch but only ones available were "performance" type which were way over 22#. My mechanic agrees with mech259, unless you are going for high performance with multiple upgrades DON'T increase the injector flow rate. Guess the unburned gas screws up the O2 sensor, and the ECM will just make the car a mess to drive. I'm getting "Standard" mfg injectors, the design is similar to Bosch.

how bout these? is 2 extra lbs too much?
best I can figure.. stock is 22 lbs.. these seem to be advertised as replacements for my car.. but have a 24 lbs flow rate.. will the extra 2 lbs cause me a problem?
