Have you checked power on fuses with a test light? Migh have lost a fusible link off the post behind the battery. [8D]

i have a nother problem I put new dist. cap and rotor, plugs and wires on the 85 and now it seems to stumble when you give it gas . also there is a sticker on the inside of the hood telling me the gap should be .030 not .045 for the plugs can anyone tell me what deal is with that . it seems to run the same at either gap

Did you set timing on car? If you did, did you unplug the connector then set the timing. Because if you didn't then the timing will be retarded. Also, you might have cracked an insulator on a plug causing a misfire.
