Default Oil cooler

Has anyone added an oil cooler to their C4? I did read that some C4's came stock equiped, my 86 did not and I'm thinking of adding one to help cool the engine.

My '90 has an oil cooler. My friend thought that meant Z51 too. Looked at the codes and I have the regular suspension.. Go figure.

Thanks.
I can't think of any good reason not to do it and it's got to shave a few degree's off the oil temp.

Once GM started using Mobile 1 in the 92-96 models the oil cooler was no longer an option.

I understand the 86 ran hot becuase of the emmissions and with the introduction of synthetic oils and continued technology, they probably didn't neet it anymore.

If my '90 doesn't come stock with an oil cooler, and I am using synthetic oil, the addition
of an oil cooler can only help right? If so, would it help enough to justify cost?

The oil cooler doesn't have a fan. The only fans you have are the cooling fans for the radiator.

But there is a fan infront of the optional KC4 Engine oil cooler. Or is the fan aftermarket?
