oil pressure guage
 

well my next problem my oil pressure gauge shows 80+ psi when on the road and 70+ at idle is this ok. when i turn the engine of the oil pressure gauge is showing about 40 psi, is my gauge bad or what?;)

i am sorry i should have given more info it is a 94 model with a automatic

well your pressure sound good,the gage should go back to 0 when the car is off, so it sound like the gage is getting stuck on its way back down,but your oil pressure is great;) hope this helps

changed oil so it sits at about 65 at idle when warm and 75 to 80 cruiseing

80 lbs is a bit high. Key on, engine off gauge shows around 40 lbs, I would unplug the sending unit and see what happens. If the gauge either goes full scale or returns to zero, I would suspect the sending unit.

with the key on engine off it sits at about 10 psi and now that i have changed the oil, warm oil pressure is about 65 psi thanks Daniel

I HAVE A 92 LT1 WITH A MECHANICAL GAGE I HAVE 70 IBS WHEN DRIVING AND 50 AT IDLE

i think mine is 65 at idle so i believe that we are running about the same oil pressure
