My last and only Vette I've owned was a 1982 black Vette that I purchased new - sold it in '84 due to marriage and baby. Well - now looking to get back in the game - and looking at C4's mainly due to price range. The 96 one I'm referring to looks like it just came from the show room and a local vette dealer has it listed at $24,000. What do you guys think - ? Reasonable or not ?

Edited to add: I'm going to have a lot of questions that some of you may feel are dumb - but I have just started getting back into researching Vettes and found out there is a lot to learn and finding this place is a Godsend to me. BTW - still married and the baby I referred to above just turned 22 - Time sure does fly.

 

A C4 more than a C5 YEA RIGHT haha....id say 18 grand at most....nice sounding car though.!

 

So, there should be no way that a C4 should be priced more than a C5? Besides the body change, were there that many mechanical improvements between a the last yr of the C4 -96 and the first yr of the C5 -97? Is there an online spec sheet that I can go to to see the factory specifications for each year?

I have found that book value on Vetts and all cars vary due to location. Most car values are higher in AZ but a Vette is lower than in Ohio.
Most dealers that sell special cars are higher. than a privite seller. If you like the car buy it, it may be better than a miled out 85k mile C5

Im not saying it cant be higher than a C5. I dont think there was that much changed. Body style, motor? Hopefully someone wtih more info will chime in. If its your taste and you can afford it, I say go for it. Its your car, whatever makes you happy DO IT!!!
