Default Repro steering wheel

In removing the original steering wheel from my 87 does the horn button turn clockwise or counter clockwise to gain access to the fasteners. Also, should I disconnect the battery. Bought my new wheel from Ecklers.

TIA

I have an 86 and I'm looking to buy a new steering wheel, what's the item number? I like to check it out. I don't have a clue on the removal of the old steering wheel.

Payton,
The Eckler's part number is 45104 for the reproduction steering wheel, and the price is $269.99. They also recover your original wheel if you want- $289.00 PLUS $175.00 refundable core charge. I chose the repro because I don't want to fool around sending stuff back and forth in the mail.
By the way the 87 horn button pulls straight off. Kinda watch how it comes off because there are several prong type retainers and you have to get it back on correctly or the horn won't work. Ask me how I know.
