Default Rims?

Hi all, According to what I've read, "87 vettes came with 16" rims standard. Mine has 17" rims. I was wondering what year these rims are from or were they an option in '87. I haven't found anything claiming them as an option. I've been told they are '89 rims and they are ZR1 rims from '90. I have no idea and was just wondering. Thanks.

I thought ZR1 were 5 spokes so how could they be ZR1 rims from a 90?

From what I can make out from your pic they look the same as the wheels on my 1990 L98 coup.

Thanks guys, I almost knew they weren't ZR1 rims. I was under the same assumtion about the 5 spokes. The '89 senareio might be right but that's why I asked ...I have no clue, I'm stupid, just ask my wife,LOL!I do like them though. The reason I'm trying to find out is I think one of the back ones is slightly bent. I thought the picture would turn out bigger, it is bigger in my gallery, sorry 'bout that. I'll keep searching for info. Cheers

The '87 Vette came with 16's.They didn't go to 17's until halfway through the '88 model year,I do believe. And those wheels on your car are from a '90.They're a one-year only wheel. The ZR-1's had them as well, but they were 17x11's in the rear.If I were you,I'd keep them on your car, they are awesome looking!!!! Your friend,Joe.

The very first zr1's had the fan blade wheel, they didnt go to the 5 spoke til either 91 or 92... I doubt your rims zr1 because the zr1 rims are much wider than the reg. stock rims, i believe they are 11in.so i dont think they wouldfit without body modification. but you can check your tire size cause the zr1 tires should be like a 315 i think...

Ditto to what Mike C4 said. My '90 has those wheels, stock. I love 'em. Very few of
them around and fairly easy to clean and keep clean.....

I know this may be late, but here are the same style just in ZR-1 size! (Hope the picture went through) I don't know who the guy is in the picture, just got it off the internet.

Yup that's the same rims. Some have a flush center cap/lug nut cover. Thanks to all who responded. Now I just have to find two, one to replace the beny one and one for a spare. Thanks again, Cheers
