Default Royal Purple?

I know weve been having a debate on synthetic and Dino. I just want to ask about royal purple. I see they are a forum sponsor and claim 9 hp from JUST a oil change and they have a video to prove it. If thats true, I am going out to get some oil. What do you guys think.....Im kind of skeptical but I want some other opinions on this.[&:]

Just remember that claims are also made on Hypertech Thermomaster chips that I have yet to see definitive proof that they actually generate the HP gains they CLAIM. I am not going to bash Royal Purple but I will say its expensive and I don't see how you can gain 9 HP from an oil change. Video or no video.

Wait, I think I might have mislead you. I didn't mean the Camaro has a Hyupertech chip. I meant that anyone can make claims and most have some sort of data that they can back it up with but how they got that data can be manipulated anyway they want to get the desired results. Now an independent lab testing thousands of cars with Royal Purple lubricants in them for thousands of miles would better sway me to believe that there are gains to be made with their products. They have a good name but in my opinion, which is nothing more scientific than an opinion, its no more likely to produce more horsepower than Mobile 1.

I am also wary of their claims...

For now, I am sticking with Mobile 1

You guy's need to check out their claims again. They claim 9hp by changing ALL the fluids-oil,transmission and diff. I'm prepared to believe that going from old fluids in a 2000 car to all fresh synthetics may produce those results but I also believe that if it's true any synthetic will give you the same results.

just so everyone knows, mobil one recently downgraded their oils from class 4 to class 3. so i wouldnt use mobil one anymore. i would stick with amsoil, royal purple, and a few others.
