Default Stock Rear Gearing, 95

Checked on a set of 375 gears for the rear today fromJegs, $336.99, ring and pinion, said it would work for rear ends with the stock gearing 279 or lower, just wondering if anyone knows the stock gearing on a 95 vette. I'm thinking probably 259 of so but just wanted to make sure, those 375's otta feel like a hundred shot of nitros when I come off the line, compared to the stockers!

Is the car an auto or 6speed? Automatics got the 259 rear end.

[ul][*]2.59 is the standard ratio for all automatics.[/ul]
[ul][*]3.07 is an option, G44, but was standard for 85-88 L98 manuals.[/ul]
[ul][*]3.45 is the standard rear for ZF6 LT1s and ZR1.[/ul]
[ul][*]3.54 was offered off and on for the ZR1 and the LT1. Beyond that, it's anybodies guess.[/ul]

Hope your a pro or have a pro's help cause setting up a rear end is a tricky business unless you like a lot of noise.

Where I live I'm lucky enough to have some good racing rear end shops who modify and rebuild them.

If you have an electronic transmission the newly found drive shaft RPM will fool the computer .
If you had a 96 it's programable for the trans and speedometer but our 95's are still OB1 still in the dark ages where you have to buy a set up chip or prom.

I have a couple of good friends that are sharp Chevy techs, have had them do past rearends on Camaros and such, I would rather leave it to them, the tranny gears must be a decent ratio, the car pulls hard through first and second, and especially when I pull it down into second at like 45, pins me back pretty good, surprised the misses last night, she doesnt really feel theway I do about speed. Ive been thinking about going with a 340 ratio, stillpull alot harder and still havegood mileage. the only mod I have is full borla 2 chamber exhaust, at least from the cats back, which did help considerably.

Hello my friend. If you do buy that 3.75 set,let me know how it goes, will ya? My '96 came with the humble 2.59 set,but it's still a blast to drive.I would like to upgrade, though.
