Default water getting into cylinder on 1989 corvette

Let me ask this question. Can water get into a cylinder from a cracked intake or faulty gasket??? Rebuilt motor with new block and heads but used old intake and after 100 mile getting the same problem with water inside inside cylinder and steaming out the exhaust...

The water could get into a cylinder w/ a bad intake gasket by the front and rear crossovers. Also a cracked block. Do a compression test and a leakdown test.
