ZR1 VS Calloway VS Ligenfelter.

RE: ZR1 VS Calloway VS Ligenfelter.
It depends what model. It would not be the ZR1 - nice car but not that fast. I respect Lingenfelter most and have dealt with them before, and I know folks who found the Callaways too rough around the edges for daily driving, so the nod would go to Lingenfelter. But they have several models, from somewhere around 550 to 900 HP. Usually their mid range makes the most sense: I know from experience that 800 Hp (flywheel, the way they rate them) is just unuseable on the street.

i will have to agree with everyone that first off the zr1 is a nice car but doesnt compare to callaway or lingenfelter. I have spoken with the lead designer/engineer for callowar John Deutshmen, and he made me fall in love with calloway altho i cant help but bring up some sick lingenfelter vettes ive seen. Some lingenfelter have 1000+ horses. I would honestly have to toss a coin or take them both on a test drive and buy which ever i thought was more fun to drive around town/highway. If i had to pick tho, probably lingenfelter.

Please don't bring up any sick lingenfelters you may have eaten-at least not on this site!!
In 1987 for some reason GM sold C4's without an engine. The previous owner of mine bought it engineless and sent it off to Lingenfelter where they popped in their 383 and upgraded everything they could, brakes, suspension,et al. I'm running around 475 on an air breathing 383 TPI which is not fantastic but it is not forced induction which is where Callaway made his name. Now John is dead unfortunately the company is going in that direction and making claims of huge HP's.At huge bucks as well!!.
Would you really want a thousand horse power car???
Please don't answer that!

254.8 MPH I don't think so.
It used to be 241.nothing with the McClaren and then that swedish thing did 242.7 and they are running around a grand.(1000hp)
That speed would embarrass a champ car let alone an FI and forget nascar.

RE: ZR1 VS Calloway VS Ligenfelter.
I have an 87 Vette conv't which has a partial Lingenfelter build-up that was done by the son of an oilman in Texas unbeknowns to his father. The reason why the father stopped the progress of the complete build-up, when he found out,was that his son would have killed himself with it; he was 19 years of age at the time. On a complete dyno test, my Vette puts out 389 HP on the average; I've only experienced this HP twice since I've owned it, and I've had this car since 1992. I'm 68 years of age and the reason I bought this Vette from this guy from Texas was that I wanted the "potential" speed to get out of problems such asdorks in done-up Mustangswho tailgated me, which I hate,on the road. The moral of my story is: when are you going to use 700 to 900HP most of the time??????; and..... are you able to handle it????? I know that these Forums are for conversation and information-gathering, but isn't the extended nose of a Vette enough to " make our statement", if we need to make one? Just my .02 cents....
