Default ZZ4 or rebuild???

Good Morning everyone,

I have been researching options on either a replacement motor or rebuild on my existing motor. I have an 85 vette and am not in need of a rebuild or replacement as of yet but am curious as to my options. Have been looking at the ZZ4 355 hp motor as a replacement. Do these motors bolt right up as a replacement or are there mods that need to be considered? I don't want a huge confusing mess and want to use my TPI instead of that company's carburator and intake. Is this feasable or should I just rebuild my original motor? I like the fact that I have a matching numbers car but that ZZ4 motor seems to be a jam up motor. Also, the other question is will my on board computer work with this motor? Like I said, I don't need a motor yet but am looking. Thanks in advance for any info.

I have always been a fan of just buying a GM crate motor and slapping it in.
