Default At 1/3 the price, are they any good???

Ok, the Borla cat back systems are around 1200 dollars and the Corsa systems are about the same. EBay has multiple vendors selling cat back systems at around 385 dollars. They are obviously all from China with names like Jungle Jungle, Mirage, BeYondR, Parts GoGo and Wang9. They claim to be 304 SS and all look identical with 4 oval tips each around 4 1/2 inches wide. Has anyone installed one of these? What do they sound like, do the tips line up correctly or do they look stupid?

Default I guess we will find out!!

It looks like no one knows anything about these cat back systems. I bought one on EBay and it arrives on the 5th. This is the 380 dollar system with quad tips all constructed from 304SS. I will post a review mid-month.

Default The box barely made it!!

The trip from California to Connecticut really took a toll on the box and contents. see the five attachments.

Default Not that bad afterall!

The components of the system were not as bad as the box looked. The stainless was highly polished, flanges are thick, the welds are allok as well.

Default Some not so good problems!

The hardware is junk, throw it away. Th corvette exhaust flange bolts are fine if not rusted. You will need 6 3/8 -16 grade five bolts 2 1/4 long with locknuts. They weren't supplied for the bell mouth connections. To get the mufflers out of the car it must be way up in the rear or on a lift.

Default Trying to make it fit!!

I started with the drivers side exhaust pipe, that's very easy with lots of room. The left muffler was next and a big problem! The mounting strap was supposed to be mounted 90 degrees to the muff. See how crooked it was, I straightened it out the best I could. I would have had to grind a hole in the center trunk well to fit the pipe under the car.
The passengers side was very tight on the heavy flange on the right pipe and the pipe itself. It wasn't clearing the transmission or the rear differential. I had to elongate the slots in the flange some more to rotate the pipe away from the obstructions.

Default All most done!

It's a struggle to get the tips all lined up in a row! I got them close enough that they look good. The installed appearance is very nice. the mufflers show under the car and thru the vents in the rear facia. Now for the ride to see how it sounds. If you want to wake the dead go buy something else! This system is only slightly louder than stock. It is a straight thru system with no baffles. Just two perforated pipes attach to the tip pipes surrounded by stainless steel wool. I was surprised that construction is so effective at controlling the noise.

Nice write-up and pics. I'll bet it sounds a lot like the steel packed mufflers of the '70s. Had a couple of sets on my '68 GTO and it wasn't loud at all. Liked them better than glass packs which were louder, especially after the 'glass was all burned out. The steel wool lasted a lot longer.

SEE THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE MUFF INTERIOR BELOW:
I hope the stainless packing loses some effectiveness over time. A little louder would be better.

Default With 1000 miles on the system

The stainless steel wool is moving away from the perforated tubes in the mufflers! The system is beginning to sound like an after market system should.
