Default Borla Stinger question.

Just wondering how many hps, if any, I get from my Borla Stinger dual exhaust pipes. I have a '04 C5 with A4 tranny.

Thanks in advance.

Rita
I've been wondering that myself. I would like to hear from someone that had their car put on a dyno right after an upgrade, but I bet that hasn't happened. I plan on getting mine put on a dyno, but not till after i get the C.A.I on, and some headers, and a high flow MAF sensor, and whatever other good things I could find.
I would be willing to bet it's not much more than 20HP though.

Hi Rich,
I'd like to do pretty much the same mods you have mentioned. Today, I talked to the shop that will be installing my C.A.I. and it is scheduled for Oct 14. I don't have it yet, but will probably buy it on eBay. If all this means I have to pay a little more money for the protection plan through GM direct, so be it. I don't know enough about cars to be uninstalling things everytime I take my vette in for service. Please let us all know how you do with your Callaway Honker. That's what I will be buying because for me it is worth spending the extra money. Bet you can't wait to get yours installed.

Take care, stay safe.

Actually, I imagine it is more like 10-12 HP is all. It makes a wonderful sound but the stock exhaust is not all that bad, so you gain only a little bit.

Thank you, Lee.
I know it is just a little bit, but every little bit adds just that much more fun.

Take care, stay safe.

In a stock or near-stock C5, I'd say 2-3 HP. In a supercharged or twin turbo C5, 20 or more is possible.

Oh, no, Dave! Say it ain't so. []
I don't think I'll go through the effort or expense of install a C.A.I. for only 2 or 3 hp.
I mean seriously, how would anyone ever notice 2 or 3 hp????

Rita, no, those figures were for an aftermarket cat-back exhaust system. The Callaway Honker system should get you 12-16 RWHP (Rear Wheel Horsepower). THAT, you can feel!
