I need to buy a new top. I see a painted top on ebay for my color. My only concern is that the color might not match well due to weathering, slight color mismatch etc.

Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks.

 

Although I have both tops, I prefer the tinted polycarbonate top by a long shot.

Yes, you always run that risk if you are buying long-distance. I would stick to buying one that is within driving distance so you can compare shades in-person.

 

just make sure they pack it well...top of the lip, and corners need to be sitting on Styrofoam. mine had a stress wrinkle that had to be repaired and repainted because of this.

And I must say that they body colored tops are a lot better than the transparent. better sound deadening and when it on it's like a whole different car. I want all the sun I can handle or none at all

 

I have both tops for my C5 and can't remember when the painted top was on the car the last time. I did a paint compare after NOT using the painted top for over a year. I cannot see any differance between body and top as far a paint differance go, but a year is not much time.
