C5 2004 Repairs support
Hello C5 Forum team -
I have a c5 2004 silver vette - last year of the hidden head lights 😁👍. Love my car, bought it early 2005 with 20k miles on her. She has been a great second vehicle, and over past 7 years primary daily driver vehicle here in California. She recently developed a slight oil leak so I took her in. I have been over diligent about maintaining her in pristine condition both side and out.
Took her into a trusted mechanic with a vette technician. They did a die in the system diagnostic test and found two leaks one in the front oil pan one in the rear. As we all know, this is not an easy repair job, nor a cheap date. But I bit the bullet and she has been in since 2/1/2023. Still don’t have her back due to inability to locate a transmitting one part that now has to be rebuilt.
just needed to vent because since Covid-19 - getting repair parts has been even tougher than it was previously. So tired of having long repair windows blamed me on supply chain issues. Understand it’s not the mechanic’s fault and they are equally sick of it. Such a nightmare. So many people at their mercy and without their cars unless you happen to have a vette wrecking yard near you.

Thomas thanks! I hope so! But more than that - just want her back in good shape so we can be partners in crime for many more years!
so grateful for the dedicated vette owners who post and share their knowledge with others. 👍😁🙏
