Yes, you can use a C6 shifter (even a Z06 version), but you cannot use a screw-on knob and its throws are not as short as those of a Hurst, BPP, or Ripper.

Keep in mind that the Anti-Venom detent mod removes as much of the hard-to-go-in-and-out of gear effort that some people complain about. Side-to-side effort is still a bit stiff, but the ultra-short throws more than make up for it, IMO.

The C6 shift throws are shorter than those in the C5, right? Can those bits be fitted to a C5?

I've driven a lot of cars. Can't say I was a fan of the C5's shifter.

The C6 Shifters are a Direct Bolt-In for the C5s. I have had a C6 Shifter in my C5 since they became available. Completely different feel and Shorter Throw(whatever that means).

I much prefer the feel of the C6 to the C5 shifter, so that would seem a good way to go.

But then some of the aftermarket shifters might be even better.

I put in a Hurst shifter in m 2000 coupe. It's notchy but I like the quick 1-2-3-4 sequence. 5 and 6 take some concentration to prevent missing and slipping into 3 or 4
