whats up guys, I need your expert opinion on a cowl hood. I have a customers 02 c-5 in my shop and he wants a cowl hood. He doesn't know if he wants carbon fiber or just fiberglass. My question is which one should I push him towards and which one fits better. Also, who is the best shop to order this from..

 

Unless the guy really needs to 12 lbs or so of weight the carbon fiber gets him, or wants the bare carbon look, fiberglass is the way to go; a) there is more selection of styles, etc., b) its less expensive all around, if the car is ever damaged it is much cheaper to fix.

Ecklers, Suncoast, and Lingenfelter all have quality stuff.

 

For most applications, carbon fiber is BMW (big money waisted). Definitely go with Fiberglass.

 

Definately Fiberglass, don't hassle with the cost and issues if the Carbon Fiber...

Does this guy want a low rise or a high rise cowl? Vented, unvented, lots of different makers with lots of different styles. I have a Caravaggio low rise as it looks almost stock, exactly what I wanted.
