Do you wave when another vette drives by you?
 

I've noticed that ever since I bought my vette and I drive by other vettes on the road they wave at me....so I wave back. This happens usually with C5s and C6s but I've been waved at by C4s and C3s too. I think it's kinda cool so I always make sure they see me waving at them. Sometimes I wave first. On a few occasions they don't wave back....but that's ok. This sort of thing never happened when I had my BMW. With my corvette I feel like I'm part of a great big family!

Oh, yes, around here it happens all the time. There are a few that don't wave, but that is their problem. I have never had this happen with any other car I have owned and think it is a really cool practice. Lord knows, I do love my vette and have never felt this way with any other car. Yup, Corvettes are very special cars and I guess that means we are all a part of a very special breed.

I agree - let the wave live on. :)

I get waves from other rodders too, not just Vettes.

I seen on the "Comandments" to wave at fellow Vette owners. Just bought mine for my wife in August and low and behold was approached by another Vette on the person was a waving. My wife asked do you know them and I said just, "brother from another mother" and told her about the comandments.

It's odd. I've only had mine for a couple of weeks. But I haven't seen a single wave from another Vette. I'v had them sitting right beside me and looking the car up and down. But not even acknowledging I'm in the car.

I've had a couple of nods, and even short conversations going down the road with a few Mustangs, mostly new ones. And there was always a wave from fellow bikers when I had my Ninja.

Maybe it's just this neck of the woods here in S.W.Florida.

Yep we got the wave going here as well. At first I wasn't waving all the time, Mainly because I was caught off guard, but now I'll wave, and if they don't wave back, I don't worry about it.
I've always been a Harley owner so "the wave" has been going on for many years. It's just nice to see that were part of a unique family out there, that has enough consideration for a friendly wave.
that is rare now days.

Of course. Always. My only problem is often I see a 'vette coming and wave, only to realize I am in the Porsche at the time.

cause I'm in NJ, close to NYC, and we all know that "NEWYORKERS", aren't the nicest people. I try to race alot of people too.....so, that could be a factor as well:)

I would say I get the wave returned about 60%-70% of the time. No matter if they wave or not I always throw a wave out there. I figure if those who don't wave are waved at enough it might just catch on to them.

I would say I get the conversations more than the waves from people at stop lights and driving slowly down the road, it always ends up with people wanting me to drop the hammer so they can see what my car can do lol.

I get lots of waves, too....of course I reciprocate. I get countless compliments on her, too....from kids, teens, my age, and older than me.....it's pretty cool.

I'm not sure what's going on but lately I get nothing when I wave at C4 and C3 owners....what's going on with that? Do they not feel like part of our group?

I think the corvette wave is awesome and adds to the enjoyment of driving. Being a nice day I saw lots of vettes today and was waiving furiously - lol. The coolest wave I have had wascatching up another vette on the freeway. I looked across and waved, the guyhad a huge smile on his face (obviously as he was driving a vette) and waived back.
I actually think it makes you more observant as well as I am always looking for vettes I am not that familiar with. [sm=happy046.gif]

well here in central california the wave is active...even from the C3 & C4 owners! my car has been in the shop for about a week now because a lady at the stop light decided to go before the light turned green...pushed me about 6 feet into the intersection (good thing there was no cross traffic)! anyway i'm in this huge ugly truck-like 300M rental car and now all the vette owners are out driving! i'm waving like crazy to no avail! i dont blame them though...i wouldn't give this car the slightest glance either...but i do say that those who saw me wave probably figured i had a vette to so they waved back! :)

Hello All,
I noticed another Corvette waved at me and my wife when we drove 03 Vert vette along the Pacific Coast HWY too. From that time , when we cruised on the HWY my wife told me "....look ...anothe Ohana ( cousin in Hawaii) waive at you"......
Not like my son and I drove Honda ( His mod Honda) , another mod Honda drove nearby and want to race ..... but the driver's face in the next Honda look unfriendly .

I get the bird all the time too. I have come to the conclusion that rednecks just don't like guys in Corvettes. :-)

I've been doing it since 1976 just after I bought my first (1974) Vette.
All I can say is that "they started it!" [sm=laughat.gif]

Yep, In my area most Vette owners wave. It's a nice fellowship to belong to.
