Default ET Question

Hello
Could anyone give a good idea what kind of 1/4 miles times I should expect with the following:
2003 C5 auto 2.73 gears. 29,ooo miles
Corsa Indy cat back
Predator performance tune and Raptor Intake.
Our dragstrip has an awesome new surface after the Hurricane and is at sea level.
I have raced motorcycles there for the last several years but have never run a car.

Times and strips vary, but with a 2.73 rear end, I would expect stock 13.4-13.5 ETs on a good track, etc. I've run several completely stock C5 autos in my Porsche (which does 13.5s routinely) and only occasionally beat them, but never lose by more than a 1/10th or so.

Assuming all your mods work well together, you ought to get 13.2-13.4 in the quarter now. So, to make sure you get into the 12s, you need to count on gaining roughly half a second then. A change of rear end ratio to 3.23, long tube headers and drag radials might just do this: 12.9ish or so, maybe 12.8. Adding high ratio rockers (if you can fit them to your engine, check first), or better yet (but more expensive) a new cam, would definately get you there.

Thanks Lee
I will let you know how it runs in a few weeks. I was considering a 3.43 if I could find someone close by to install it but in Biloxi we don't have many performance shops still here after the storm. If you know of anyone please let me know.
Thanks John

No, don't think so. I don't want another vette, ever: always wanted a silver solid-top coupe since '66, but one with absolutely dominating power for the street. Now that my 'vette is done (703 RWHP and 780 RWT, really good tune) I want to enjoy it a bit.

I like the idea of keeping this car forever. But Eventually, if I get tired of it (and I might) I would sell it if I could find a buyer who would pay a reasonable amount for it -- but only so I could get another project car (I really like the Superperformance Coupe "kit").

But for now I am just going to enjoy this baby, maybe clean up the interior a bit -- new seats (seams have split for some reason in the driver's seat) etc., and drive it every day it doesn't rain.
