Default Finally got my C5!

I went to pick it up last night. 2000 Nassau Blue 6 speed 30912 miles. I hope to have pics this weekend. I can't wait for the drive to work this morning. I'm waiting for the sun to come up so I can look at it in the daylight. I picked it up just at dusk last night. My wife took me to pick it up. As were were leaving the seller's house she said, " I get the distinct impression he really didn't want to let the car go". He was selling it because he bought a big shiny new boat and he's having an in-ground pool put in. Okay, enough rambling like a fool.

I have a question. During the reading on the forum here the past couple weeks I tripped across a post. Something about things you might not know about your Corvette, or little known things about your Corvette, or something like that. I thought I had bookmarked it. But I guess I didn't. If this makes any sense can someone point me to it again?

Mike

Hello Mike and welcome to the site. Nassau Blue was the color I really wanted to get when I was shopping for my Vette, but I was having a hard time trying to find one just the way I wanted. You have to post some pictures when you get a chance, I still love that color.

Congratulations on joining the C5 family!!!
I don't remember that post either but things you should know about your new vette include:

1) Drive slowly over street bumps.
2) Purchase an extended warranty.
3) Realize that you now own a car that can blow approx. 80% of all other cars away! So practice restraint!
4) Vettes love to be washed and waxed ..... so keep the vette looking shiny!
5) When you stomp on the gas pedal don't think the apocalypse has come....it's just the growl of your V8 making its presence felt!

Enjoy your car!!!

I'm not sure it's true for C5's, but don't ever open and shut the car door when the car is on a lift (you don't have to worry about the drive on kind). Congrats on your purchase.

Oh BTW
just a couple issues that I have had with mine since I bought it. I have had the problem with the fuel gauge dropping out on me. I have been successful so far by using ONLY Chevron 91 octane gas with Techron in it, and also using a extra bottle of Techron at every fuel up. After 3 tankfulls I have not had this issue come up again. In other words don't use cheap gas.

Don't over inflate or under inflate your tires. I keep mine at 37 psi and this has worked out fine.

Also you may want to check to see if you have the original Delco battery, if you do get another one. There has been issues with this battery leaking, and your computer is right below it.
Good Luck, and have fun!!
