First off congrats on your purchase. There is a lot you can do to squeeze a little more power out of that engine. You can do a new intake, MAF sensor, Throttle Body, Z06 intake manifold, but if you ask me the next thing you should do is throw a nice set of longtube headers on her. The headers are probably going to be one of the best bangs for the buck. Good luck with everything.

An air intake system will probably be the least expensive mod. I gained over 12 Rear Wheel Horsepower with my Halltech Stinger intake. Others, like the Vararam (pain to install), BPP Vortech, and Calloway intake systems are cold air systems and thus, take more time to install. However the power you gain with high- flow intake is retained when cold air is allowed to pass through the filter. I made my own cold air system for the Halltech, but the Vararam, BPP, and Calloway stsyems are also CAIs.

Long tube headers do provide a significant increase in power but are not smog legal in CA.
