Welcome to the forums Peter, Moving to Texas would not be my first choice, but it's a nice state been there many times. For information you might consider sending the company an email and see what they can tell you about that Id number, they must have a record of that tag.
To find the answers to your questions you will need to dig into the Racing archives 21 years ago. The company might exist today but not under that name. You know they built 9 cars under that name (like many other company's) of that time. Many of the GT1 cars used many GM production parts by many of the car builders, How much GM invested is really unknown. Is this a car you have?
