Installing stingray emblems on C5 Corvette
I am looking to put Stingray emblems on my 2001 triple black convertible as a way to honor the 69 Corvette I owned for thirty years. About a year and a half ago I traded my 69 red convertible for my black C5 convertible. I don't regret it; as the C5 is a much superior sports car in every way, but I do want to remember my 69. I have a pair of Stingray emblems in pretty good shape. I plan to cut the pins off the back and file the back ends to be very smooth. Does anyone know of a way that I can mount these emblems on the front fenders of my C5 without it being a permanent installation. I want to be able to remove them if I want and not have the paint damaged. Is there any kind of mounting tape I could use that would not damage the finish on the car?

3M double sided tape will hold them on and when you get ready to take them off a razor blade against the back of the emblem will do the trick. My brother put some on his '86. Looks good but he's just a ,....what do the kids say?,...."poser" , that's it, a poser. LOL!
PS: have them gold plated first. Nothing like gold on black.

I would suggest using a clear Silicone. I personally have used this for emblems in the past on my vehicles and currently have some 327 emblems installed that way on my Black truck. Works great, and permanent until your ready to take them off and they can be removed much easier than the 3M tape.

That sounds like a good idea. Does it do anything to the paint? Do you have to do any prep work to the area? You do have to be careful when removing that double sided tape. Cheers
