Hello Lee,

I read your post on calculating Flywheel HP from RWHP data. You estimate that, on average, C5s and C6s with manual 6 speed trannies lose about 11.4% from the flywheel. Do you have any estimates for C5 automatics? Are they less/more efficient when it comes to preserving power from flywheel to rear wheel?

As I said in another post just now, about 14.3% driveline losses, relative to the flywheel rating, is the figure I have seen for 'vettes with the A4, i.e., about 50 HP lost from 350 at the flywheel to 300 at the rear wheels which is what most put down stock. That 50HP is 1/6th (16.6%) of the rear wheel HP reading, so the esaiest formula to remember is

Estimated flywheel (A4) = RWHP times 116.6%
