Default MN6 Column Lock Bypass????

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums and looking to buy a 02-04 vette soon. I was just wondering how to tell if a CLB has been installed on a MN6? Thanks in advance!

When I purchased my car it had not been done yet, but when I took it to the local Chevy dealer they punched the vin # in and it gave them a list of any recalls that have not been performed yet. So you could call your local Chevy service department with the vin and they should be able to tell you if it has been done yet.

If it is NOT installed, you will hear a "Bzzzzzt" when you turn the ignition key to the ON position, Likewise, you will hear the same noise when you turn the ignition key off. In addition, the steering wheel will be locked after you turn the key off.

Paytoplay,

I believe he's talking about the bypass, not the recall. The recall won't fix a C5 with MN6 tranny. I know because I had the recall done just before my column lock relay failed completely. After having my car towed to the dealership for a replacement, I promptly installed the bypass and should never have that problem again.
