New owner looking for the best place to locate/buy parts for '01 C5. First need is for a headlight motor. Thanks!

Default RE: PARTS

For stuff like that I go straight to the dealer: special stuff like that is hard to get with quality except from a dealer. You could try googling for internet Gm parts supllliers (usually these are Gm dealers willing to drop ship parts at a discount) but my experince is it's usually easier and no more costly to buy direct at the dealer.

You could get used parts (surplus yard) but considering the amount of labor involved it isn't worth not going with new and buying used electrics is always tricky.

For routine parts (starters, batteries) I just go to Advanced Auto.

For performance parts, try the advertisers on this forum, and the usual places like Lingenfelter, SLP, MTI, etc.

Thanks Lee. I am waiting to here back from the dealer on the cost of this part. They may even discount this since I've only had it for 2 weeks.

Two weeks? They should pay for it and install it for free!

I forced the issue and got them to take care of this! Thanks for the advice. The dealer is just not the easiest to negotiate with. This is why I am searching for a reliable service center.
